The Move Process
Step 1: Determine Your Move Date And Destination
Moves are priced based on weight/volume and distance.  Your move date and
destination information help us determine transportation rates and available capacity
for your shipment.

HINT: You don't need to know the specific address for delivery just yet.  We calculate
local distance* as city to city, and all other shipments as zip-code to zip-code.

* A move is considered "local" if the distance between where you are moving from
(origin) and where you are moving to (destination) is 50 miles or less.

Step 2: Determine What You Are Going To Move
Knowing what you are going to move will help our team give you an accurate estimate
on the cost of your move.  Be sure to consider items located in basements, garages,
attics, crawl-spaces, backyards and sheds.

HINT: Identify any items that might require special consideration such as:

  • Washers, dryers, or refrigerators with functioning ice-makers will need to be
disconnected and prepared for shipping.  If you are not comfortable doing this on
your own we can contract with a third party company to take care of this for you.
Service is available at both origin and destination.  Additional fees are applicable
    so be sure to ask!

  • Pianos.  Depending on the type of piano (grand, baby grand) disassembly and
reassembly will be necessary before we can transport.  We can contract with a
third party company to handle.  Additional services such as key tie-down and
    tuning are available.

  • Pool Tables.  Pool table moves require disassembly and crating of the table-slate.

  • Big Screen, Plasma and LCD TV's.  All 42" and larger plasma TV's without
original packaging MUST be crated for transport.  LCD TV's should be
transported in their original packaging whenever possible.  Rear-projection and
DLP TV's can usually be transported without need for special packing.

  • Grand Father Clocks.  These are shipped in special clock-boxes, but must have
the weights and pendulum removed.  If you do not feel comfortable removing
these we can contract with a third party company to handle.

  • Vehicles.  In many cases it is possible to transport your vehicle on the same truck
with your household goods.  If this is not possible, or if you have multiple cars we
    can provide a car-carrier truck.

Step 3: Determine Your Packing Needs
Do you want us to pack for you, or would you prefer to pack on your own?  We offer
expert full-service packing of all of your items.  Additionally we can unpack and put
away all of your items in your new home.  Packing yourself?  Take a look at our
packing guide for help.  You can purchase boxes and materials directly from us!  In
some cases used boxes may be available at a discount so be sure to ask.  We can
also provide limited packing service for breakables and high-value items.
